Touchpoints™ Project
The Touchpoints™ Project is a training model for practitioners/providers around key points in a young child's development. It is a form of outreach and supportive alliance building, which engages parents around important information about their child's development. It emphasized prevention through anticipatory guidance and development of relationships between parents and practitioners/providers. As a result, parents will be more likely to maintain involvement with the systems of care around their children. The goal of the Touchpoints™ Project is not just to change the way in which individual practitioners/providers serve families, but to affect a broader shift in the paradigm of care for children and families. By working with coalitions of practitioners/providers representing a range of disciplines, we are engaging our entire community in adopting the Touchpoints™ approach which will form connections with families and work with parents to bring healthier and better outcomes for their children.
