  • Provides a program of public education focused on prevention, detection, and management of the barriers to human growth and development.
  • Supports efforts for early diagnosis and intervention in our community.

Goals

Our primary goal is to support the entire mental health community by promoting mental wellness, encouraging improvement in the care and access to treatment of the mentally ill, and by defeating the stigma that is a barrier to mental health treatment universally.

  • Promoting Mental Wellness
Through our educational programs, newsletters, and referral services, we provide information on innovative practices and therapies for sound mental health.
  • Encouraging Improvement in Access and Treatment
Through our support groups, referral of local providers, and legislative advocacy, we work to improve access and treatment of individuals with mental illness.
  • Defeating Stigma
Through our Defeating Stigma Coalition forums, open dialogues, and awareness and education programs, we help members of our community overcome any stigma regarding mental health.
  • A Healthy Start for Families
Through our children's prevention programs, our goal is to bring about healthier outcomes for children in our community by strengthening families, empowering new parents, enhancing the system of childcare, and supporting all opportunities for early diagnosis and intervention.
